Colourpop eyeshadow rewiev

A while ago i bought some products from Colourpop. I bought the phase me out value set and some lip products (read about it here).  The value set consisted of four super shock shadows from their spring collection. The shadows included in the set was One by One, Itty Bitty, Flipper and Going rouge. These are very peachy shades which is perfect for spring and summer! The set was $20 value while the price was $18 . I was super exited to try products from Colourpop for the first time, especially since everybody seems to have and love them.

This is what Colourpop claims: “Super Shock Shadow Our famous long-wearing crème powder formula with a unique bouncy-like texture. It’s super creamy, insanely pigmented, and has one swipe intensity with zero fallout.”

Facetune-2017061336388050This is the base i started out with. I used a stick foundation, bronzer, blush, a highlight and I had also done my brows.  First i applied Going Rouge all over my lid and above the crease to create a base. I applied this with the base shadow brush form Real Techniques (you can find it here). I had to use a lot of the product since the shadow wasn’t as pigmented as it seemed during swatches.   Facetune-201706131196417855

After I applied One by One followed by Flipper. I felt like i needed a lot of product to build up the color to be as intense as i wanted it. I found the shadows to be very creamy but not as pigmented as i would like for them to be. The feel of the product is a very silky and smooth texture and very lightweight.

Finished the look by adding Itty bitty on the lover part of the lid and in the crease with the deluxe crease brush from real techniques (find it here). Facetune-201706139079910Facetune-201706131772430634

The value set is a very nice one to add to your collection, the colors are really nice after some building. Even though these shadows aren’t as pigmented as id wish i would recommend them. I think these shadows can be very nice to add to a collection, especially if you like peach colors. You can find the set hereFacetune-20170613558061700

The beginner makeup kit

In this post I will tell you about some great products to start out with if you are new to makeup. All of the makeup is cruelty free, which is extremely important to me.

My personal favorite primer is the color correcting primer from smashbox. I use the primer on a daily basis. What primer basically does is that it prepare the face for product. It can make your pores appear smaller, it makes products as foundation and concealer last longer, and it can work as a color correcting base.

You can follow this link for smashbox’ primer finder, if you are unsure of which primer to choose. I apply the primer all over my face with my hands.

My favorite foundation at the moment is the Isadora Cushion foundation in the shade nude porcelain. It has a lightweight and smooth finish, and it’s not caky. It also comes with an sponge which wow actually good. It also does a fantastic job on blemishes and spots. You can find it here.

Personally I prefer the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pomade. I have the pomade in blonde, and apply product in light strokes. I use an angled flat brush. There is also different kinds of products for the brows, for example powder or pencils. You just have to try different things and  figure out what works for you.

A good eyeshadow is a good investment if you want to build your makeup collection. There are so many pretty palettes out there! If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on eyeshadow I would recommend buying a palette which has some natural colors for an everyday use, and some sparkly and bright colors for a night out. A great palette is the tartlette in bloom (here), it has sparkling and darker colors, but it can be a little expensive. Another great palette is the ablaze smashbox palette, which is on top of my wishlist at the moment. The smashbox is also 17$ cheaper (Here).

Bronzer, blush, highlighter

One important thing to remember about bronzer, especially if you have a lighter skin, is the color of it. If you use a bronzer which is too dark you will end up with a dirty looking shade. I apply the bronzer with a bigger and fluffy brush for a natural glow. I prefere the urban decay illuminatior, which also comes with a brush.(Here)

My favorite blush is the hot mama blush from the balm. The blush has a natural look and a easy build up. I normally just use bronzer or just use a blush for the more natural look, I think the result looks a bit to “overdone ” when I apply both at once.  You can find it Here.

The Mary-Lou manizer is my favorite highlighter! It’s easy to build up, and the result doesn’t look caky, which I belive is a big problem with a lot of highlighters! I apply the highlighter with an small but fluffy brush to the bridge of my nose and on top of my cheekbone. I don’t like the look of too much highlighter. Just as the bronzer, this is a product you need to have a little patience with and you’ll get the hang of it. (Here)

If you want to save money on highlighter, bronzer and blush, I wold reccomend a palette with all three of them in one. For example the urban decay flushed palette. I have never tested it, but I would totally like to! (Here)

A good powder will help you set your makeup and the final result will be smoother. I really like the compact powder from Isadora, and I apply it with a big fluffy brush. You can find the powder here.

Mascara is the one thing to complete the entire look, and a good mascara is crucial! I love the better than sex mascara from too face. It gives lengt and volume, you will be amazed. You can find it here.
